EMMENDORFER, Mona Jane – of Montrose, age 83, died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Tim Hobson and Pastor Jay Roussel officiating. Burial to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-8PM and on Tuesday from 2-3PM. Contributions may be made to the family.
Mona was born February 17, 1930 in Burton to the late Randolph and Gladys (Moran) Pyne. She resided in Montrose her entire life and was a 1948 graduate of Montrose High School. She married Anthony Emmendorfer on September 4, 1948. She owned and operated Mona’s Beauty Salon for many years. Mona was a member of Lamb of God Church, Montrose Senior Center and the Montrose Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed line dancing, sewing heart supports for BPI, puzzles and teaching sewing in the 4H.
Surviving are: husband, Tony; children, Jane (Greg) Helmer of Houghton Lake, Mark (Terry) Emmendorfer of Montrose, Mary Jo Emmendorfer of Montrose, Jill Sorenson of Montrose; 19 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Vera Huber of Montrose, Muriel Rabb of Montrose; sister-in-law, Janet Pyne of Harrison; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: a son, Anthony Wayne Emmendorfer in 2010; brother, Victor Pyne; sister, Barbara Scafuri; grandson, Norman Klein; and a son-in-law, Gregg Haney.
