ALLEN, John Douglas – Of Swartz Creek, age 70, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at McLaren Hospital, surrounded by his family and embraced with love. John lies in rest at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, visitation 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015. John was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on October 29, 1944, the son of Lewis L. Allen and Ottie Mae Jackson. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1962-1966. Married for over 50 years to Lana Gail (Corkren) Allen beginning on August 25, 1963 in Kalamazoo, MI. John brought great pleasure to many with his drawings, woodworking and musical talents; he was admired and appreciated by many. Loved by five daughters, Kimberly Pentecost of Flint Twp, Tracy Allen, M.D. of Irvine, CA, Michele Lasley (James Munofo Jr.) of Hartland, Jennifer (Dax) Sparks of Sikeston, MO, Nicole (Dan) Anthony of Swartz Creek; eight grandchildren, Heather (Nate), Nicholas, Zachary (Ashley), Cameron, Jimmy, Taylor, Tynan, Lily and Madax; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Christian and Addison; two brothers, Lyndel (Louise) and Gayland (Jill);many nieces,nephews and a large extended family;sister-in-law, Mary (George) Salavics, Ashley and Nathan.
