Kenneth W. Menear, age 92, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 26, 1923 in Hancock, Michigan to parents Albert and Annie (Spear) Menear. Kenneth served in the United States Army’s 16th Armored Division in the European Theatre during WWII. He worked as a tool and die maker at AC Spark Plug for 43 years and retired in 1986. Kenneth was a member at Oak Park United Methodist Church until they closed, then becoming at member at Court Street United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing and photography. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara (Bean) Menear; children: Nancy (Paul) Durant, Craig (Dawn) Menear; grandchildren: Courtney (Sloan) Griffith, Danielle Menear; step-grandchildren: Angela Durant, Brian (Megumi) Durant; step-great grandchildren: Jacob Durant, Naomi Durant, and Eliana Durant; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by both parents; brothers: Merwin Menear, Clayton Menear; sister, Elva “LaVelle” Menear. A funeral service will take place at 11am on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Court Street United Methodist Church (225 W. Court Street, Flint). Rev. Jeremy Peters officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 2-8pm at Brown Funeral Home (1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc), and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, beginning at 10am. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Court Street United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice in Kenneth’s name. |
