BUNKER, Roy M. Jr. – Of Flint, age 93, died Monday, January 14, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at Maranatha Baptist Church, 3408 Miller Road, Flint, Pastor Don Albright officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Old News Boys.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. Bunker will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On July 5, 1947 he married Elinor Mann and she preceded him in death on January 5, 2015.
He was a longtime member of Maranatha Baptist Church and was a member of the Masons.
He enjoyed gardening, riding his bicycle, loved his Boston Terriers, Prince and Tony; crosswords, his coffee, and above all he loved his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bunker was employed by Fisher Body for 30 years.
Surviving are children, Jerry,
Janet and husband Gary VanKirk,
Joanne Lankheet and
James;
brother, Raymond (Mary) Bunker;
11 grandchildren;
many great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sister, Grace; brothers, Donald and Ronald.
