AKE, Lois Jean - Age 71, of Fenton, died Wednesday, February 27, 2018. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Lindsey Carnes officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 4-9 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to First Presbyterian Church of Fenton, Alzheimer's Association, or Genesee County Humane Society.
Lois was born March 13, 1947 in Jackson, the daughter of Robert C. and Marie (Naujalis) Reminga. She was a 1965 graduate of Ottawa Hills High School in Grand Rapids and received her Bachelor's degree in social work from Western Michigan University. She married James S. Ake September 10, 1977 in Grand Rapids and he preceded her in death September 25, 2013. She retired in 1986 from Citizens Insurance as claims manager. Lois was a member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church of Fenton.
Surviving are: daughter, Kimberly Ake (Zach Meyers) of Chicago, IL; son, Kevin (Megan) Ake of New Hudson; grandchildren, Charlotte and Elliott; brothers, Richard (Sue) Reminga of Ohio, Carl (Elena) Reminga of Maine, and Terry (Bonnie) Reminga of Vicksburg; sister, Candi (Bruce) Bero of Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.
