KINNEY, George J. – of Mt. Morris, age 64, died Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 3PM Friday, November 30, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 11AM until the time of service at 3PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Old Newsboys of Flint.
George was born January 20, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late George and Marcella (Babcock) Kinney. He attended Clio High School. George married Lenora Sammons on August 5, 1972 in Clio. Mr. Kinney was a longtime employee of Buick Motor Division and retired from General Motors in Pontiac in 2008 with 30 years seniority. He was a member of the UAW Local #599. George enjoyed golfing, canoeing, camping, shooting pool, bowling, and watching NASCAR.
Surviving are: Wife, Lenora Kinney; Children: George (Mary) Kinney Jr., Tamara Miller (Fiancé Keith), and Scott (Toni) Kinney; Grandchildren: Rebecca, Jordan, Samantha, Clayton, Grace, Noah, Alivia, Micheal, Chaz, Kyle, Mariah, and Haleigh; Great grandchildren: Carter and Emmersyn; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; 4 sisters in law, and all of their respected spouses; Many other loving family members and dear friends. George was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jessica Phelps; 4 brothers in law, and 1 sister in law.
