THYGESEN, Lawrence D.- of Otisville, age 76, passed away Sunday October 13, 2013 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11AM Wednesday October 16, 2013 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 353 E. Vienna St. Clio, MI. Rev. Dr. John D. Bailey officiating. The family will accept visitors on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Lawrence was born in Flint, MI on February 16, 1937 to the late Leonard and Anna (Rovenko) Thygesen.He grew up in Clio and graduated from Clio High School. Lawrence was a member of the Jaycee’s of Flint. He worked for Michigan Bell as a foreman for 31 years; he was also a licensed builder and realtor. Lawrence enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and his faithful canine companion, Coco.
Lawrence is survived by his wife Frances; children, Kimberly A. (Douglas) Detmer Craig S. (Amy) Thygesen, Kevin L. (Laurie) Thygesen, and Deborah S. (Joseph) Madore; grandchildren, Joey (Amanda) Detmer, Caitlin Detmer, Breanna Thygesen, Caylin Thygesen, Aaron (fiance’ Danielle) Thygesen, Tanner Thygesen, Korey Thygesen, Kyle Madore, and Christian Madore; great grandchildren, Ailah and Millie Mae Detmer; brother, Leonard T. Thygesen; brother-in-law, William (Rosalie) Robinson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Minto; brother-in-law, Jack Rohner Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brother Richard Thygesen
