Landon was born on September 7, 2007, in Flint, Michigan to Brandon and Shannon (Pifer) Leighton.
Landon had a huge love of the outdoors. One of his favorite places to be was on Torch Lake with his family and friends. He loved the Spring Break trips to Tennessee and most recently our trip to Florida, where the first thing he did was get on the beach and throw a football. He always looked forward to our Mackinac City trips every August, where we would play at the beach, shop in town, and always go see the deer at Deer Ranch. He also had a great love of sports. He loved playing Football, Basketball, and Baseball. He would play any position his coach would ask him to play. He was so proud that he was the winning pitcher that helped his baseball team win their tournament. He was also a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Pistons.
Besides sports, he also enjoyed being with the love of his life, his girlfriend, Emerson Starr. Landon also had a great love for his dogs, and truly any animal.
Landon formed a great bond with both his mother and father. He was the most perfect son that you could ever ask for. His special bond with his mom, he would always spend time with her whenever she asked. They would watch sports together and study together. She would pitch to him at the ball fields to help him practice his batting. He would give his mom big hugs and would always say, “Yes Mom”, “Ok Mom”, “I’ll be right there Mom” and Mom was always there for all his games. She would host special birthday parties and Holidays with family.
Landon also had a great bond with his dad. They went to sporting events, with the most recent being a Lion’s Game in December. They would go to Tigers Games, Golfing, and Car Shows. He was exceptionally close to his siblings Rylee, Brooklynn, and truly enjoyed playing with his baby brother, Braxton. He also loved his half-sister, Lilli, very much.
Landon was also a devoted follower of Christ, attending Vertical Life Church, Higher Praise, and Clio Community Church of God.
Landon was the most fun-loving, funny young man. He was such a joy to be around. He loved everybody and anybody that knew him, loved him. He would do anything for anybody, including family, friends, and neighbors; especially his neighbor, Carla.
Landon is survived by his father and mother, Brandon and Shannon Leighton; his siblings, sister Rylee Leighton (and friend Andrew), sister Brooklynn Leighton, brother Braxton Leighton, and half-sister Lilli Dolan; and the love of his life, Emerson Starr, and her little brother Everett. He is also survived by his Grandmother Renee Pifer (Bucka), Grandmother Cindy Hawkins and husband (Step-Grandfather) Ron Hawkins and Step-Grandmother, Kim Leighton; and several Great-Aunts, Great-Uncles, and many cousins who all loved Landon very dearly.
Landon was preceded in death by his Grandpa Wayne (Pants) Pifer, Grandpa Larry Leighton, Great-Grandmother Dayle Pifer, Great-Grandfather Rex LaBarr, Great-Grandmother Marjorie LaBarr; Aunt Linda Smalley, Uncle Kevin Pifer and his Uncle Christopher Leighton.
