MITCHELL, Lloyd D. – Of Swartz Creek, age 87, died Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Lawrence Gill officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Reverence Hospice.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Lloyd was born in Durand, Michigan on October 6, 1930, the son of Walter and Edna (Holland) Mitchell.
On December 26, 1956 he married Barbara Mills in Angola, Indiana.
He was a member of the Linden VFW Post.
Mr. Mitchell was a farmer; was employed at Buick Motor Division for 36 years and did excavating work on weekends with bulldozers and heavy equipment.
Surviving are wife, Barbara Mitchell;
children, Cindy (Larry) McMurphy,
Lloyd (Mary) Mitchell, Jr.,
Leonard Mitchell,
Loren (Jill)Mitchell and
Lisa Mitchell;
11 grandchildren;
6 great-grandchildren;
sister, Erma Parks.
He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Amy Mitchell.
