SMITH, Douglas – of Davison, age 87, passed away May 18, 2016 at the Pines of Lapeer. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
Douglas was born in Flint, MI on March 20, 1929, son of the late Harold and Lila (McDonald) Smith. He was a life member of the Davison VFW. Douglas retired from the USPS in June of 1988 after 38 years of service.
Douglas is survived by his wife Joyce; children, Scott Smith, Lisa Nemazi and Marianne Weyland; grandchildren, Andrea Smith, Nathan Smith, Leslie Nemazi, Lauren Nemazi, Stephanie Stein, Tyler Lubbers and Alexander Smith; great-grandchildren, Carter Czarzasty, Jessica Smith, Bradley Stein and Caroline Stein; sister, Beverly Kubica; sisters-in-law, Lila Smith and Marjean Smith; brother-in-law, George Kubica. He was preceded in death by son, Cortney Smith; brothers, Harold Smith, Herbert Smith and Donald Smith.
