LUCAS, Phyllis E. (Rose) – of Davison, age 97, passed away August 6, 2020 surrounded by her family. A Funeral Service will be held 2 PM Monday, August 10, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Davison, 208 E. Fourth St., Davison, MI 48423; Dorothea Weist officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Stiles Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 11 AM until 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or Davison Senior Center.
Phyllis was born in Hadley, MI on March 23, 1923, daughter of the late Edward and Elsie (Seelbinder) Rose. She married Robert “Bob” Lucas on December 14, 1946 in Lapeer, MI. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2004. Phyllis worked many years at Reid Drug Store in Davison, volunteered for the Chamber of Commerce and the Davison Senior Center. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Davison. Phyllis enjoyed traveling, playing cards, watching the Detroit Tigers and especially spending time with family and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Rose Ann (Verde) VanSickle, Marla (Tom) Ponke, Paula (Tom) Earegood and Juanita (Don) Schofield; daughter-in-law, Robin Lucas; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother, Edward (Bertie) Rose; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sons, Gerald and Clare; sister, Dorothy Allis; brothers, Victor, Lawrence and Harold.
