Ammerman, Carl L. - Age 75, of Flushing, died September 2, 2017. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 6th with a Celebration of Life Service at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 7th at the funeral home. Interment in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, 2020 Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Adopt-a-Pet Fenton in memory of Carl. Carl was born on November 27, 1941 in Altoona, PA. to Carl S. & Leona (Breit) Ammerman. He married Marlene McManus in Altoona, PA on December 28, 1963. Carl worked for General Motors, V8 Engine plant as a Pipe Fitter for 40 years and was a member of the UAW 659. He enjoyed golfing, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well as a Detroit Tigers fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren and “grand dogs.” Carl was a former member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for 38 years where he coached 5th and 6th grade boys basketball for 13 years and girls basketball for two. He also started and ran the Holy Redeemer Bowling League, which raised thousands of dollars for the school. Surviving are his wife, Marlene; children, Denise Witucki, Carl J. (Beth) Ammerman, Debbie (Bill) Asbury; grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Autumn, Kristin, Haley, and Jake. He is also survived by sister, Linda Mahoney.
