Popovits, Marjorie Alice of Flushing, age 91, died Monday, April 17, 2017, surrounded by her family. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Gordon Reigle will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Robert Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until the time of the Mass. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and Soup Kitchen, 1922 Iowa St., Flint.
Marjorie was born in Flint, Michigan, on August 1, 1945, the daughter of Willard and Ruth (Kennedy) Weaver and grew up in Mt. Morris with her three sisters. She married Jack Popovits on May 20, 1943, in Flint and they raised their three children in Flushing. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1995, after 52 years of marriage. Nothing brought Marjorie more joy than being with her family.
Marge is survived by her sons, David Popovits of Fenton, Patrick and wife Kim Popovits of San Francisco; three grandchildren; sister, Barbara Sokolowski of Flushing.
With deep gratitude, we thank friends and family, especially Martha Lefurgey, Cammy Loose and Kindred Hospice for their love and care and allowing Marge to fulfill her wish of dying peacefully at home. |
