BUTERAKOS, Gust George “Gus” – Of Fenton, age 73, died Saturday, June 18, 2011, due to congestive heart failure at Caretel Inns of Linden.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 at
Grace Lutheran Church, 2526 Corunna Road, Flint, Pastor Daniel Tomczyk officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, Mr. Buterakos will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Mr. Buterakos was born in Flint, Michigan on May 28, 1938, the son of George and Margaret (Nielsen) Buterakos.
He was a resident of: Fenton, MI (May thru Oct) and Sun City West, AZ (Nov thru Apr).
He married Delrene Smeby on August 10, 1963 in Flint.I
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
He loved golfing, hunting, rotisserie baseball, was avid U of M sports fan and City of Fenton Zoning Board past member.
Mr. Buterakos’ life work was with Genesee Co. Community Mental Health as an Administrator.
Surviving are wife, Delrene;
sons, Todd (Pamela) and Christopher;
grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle Livingston;
mother-in-law, Lillie Smeby;
brothers-in-law, Larry Smeby (Linda) and Delmore Smeby; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret; brother, Michael and sister, Vilia.
