TOOMEY, Harold D. - Of Burton, age 83, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Kent Clark officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac, Michigan, Grace Church at Franklin, TN or Babe Ruth Baseball Association.
Visitation 4-8pm Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home.
Harold was born in Flint on April 22, 1934. Harold served in the United States Army. On February 16, 1963, he married Ruth Dexter in Burton. Harold retired from General Motors. He was a member of Babe Ruth Baseball Association and a Bird Dog Scout for Tommy Thompson for 48 years.
Surviving are wife, Ruth;
daughter, Rebecca and husband Howard Smith of Franklin, TN;
grandsons, Howard L. (Howie) Smith II, and Christian Nathaniel Smith (Nathan);
and brothers, Cleveland C. Cates of Zephyrhills, FL, Kenneth C. Toomey and wife Diane of Durand;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Adam L. Smith, step-father, Ernest Toomey, mother Thelma Toomey and father Harold Locke.
