SALAJEKEH, Professor Robert Bahram – Of Flint Township, age 76, died Saturday, May 28, 2016 at his residence, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side.
Visitation 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, immediately followed by
Celebration of Life Service at 1 p.m. at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or McLaren Hospice.
Robert was born in Rabour, Iran on September 25, 1939, the son of the late Morad and Golnesa Salajekeh.
Robert married Anne Rasmussen on March 13, 1971 in Greenville, Michigan.
He graduated from the University of Tehran with two Master’s Degrees, one in Civil Engineering and the other in Engineering Mechanics.
Robert graduated with his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.
Robert was an Advisor for Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at GMI.
He retired as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University (formerly GMI) in 2013, after 30 years of service.
He loved landscaping his yard, nature, traveling, especially to his homeland and spending time with his family and dear friends.
Surviving are wife, Anne;
two children, Ryan (Katy) of Pompano Beach, Florida and
Amanda of Flushing;
two grandchildren, Nathan and Matthew;
brother, Mohammed (Maluke);
sister, Bebe;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Monica and two sisters.
