Tylus, Philip F. of Flint, age 88, died Monday, October 9, 2017, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettel will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
Philip was born in Flint, Michigan on March 5, 1929, the son of Anthony and Bertha (Kasprzyk) Tylus. Philip was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country from 1952-1955. Employed by Buick Motor Division, he retired as a supervisor in 1977, after 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking, baking, watching movies and was also an avid reader. He was known to have pulled the handle on more than one slot machine in his lifetime. Being aware of the more important things in life, Philip developed and nurtured many close relationships with friends and family. He also shared a very special relationship with his sister, Helen, whom he deeply missed after her death in 2008.
Philip is survived by his nephews, Mark (Christa) Tylus, Mike (Melissa) Tylus, Tim (Kathy) Tylus Tony (Debra) Tylus; nieces, Bonnie (Don) Gilman, Rochelle (Dave) Curnow, Nancy Earl, Jean Pringle; close friends, Glenn, Bobbie, Patrick, Doug and Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter, Eddie, Joe, Stanley, Chester; sister, Helen; and close friends Bob and Dan. |
