WELCH, Alice Jean - Of Byron, age 86, died Monday, April 2, 2018 at Serenity House Assisted Living-Byron.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Friday, April 6, 2018 at Byron Baptist Church, 410 North Ann Street, Byron, MI 48418.
Pastor Michael Boyle officiating.
Burial in Byron Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Mission Arlington, 210 W. South Street, Arlington, Texas 76010.
Visitation 1pm Friday at Byron Baptist Church until the time of the service.
Alice was born in Byron, Michigan on June 25, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles F. Olmstead and Esther A. Hardy. Alice graduated from Byron High School, Class of 1950. She married Robert W. Welch in Byron on July 1, 1955. Robert served in the United States Army, 187th Glider Infantry Regiment, 11th Airborne Division during World War II. Alice was a member of Byron Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to her family, her church and most importantly, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her favorite times were family gatherings at Christmas and ladies’ meetings at church. The desire of her heart was to be the best wife, mother and grandmother she could be and for everyone around her to know Jesus Christ the way she did.
Surviving are daughters, Diana and husband Wayne Dysinger of Elsie, MI, Debra and husband Tim Musgrave of Arlington, TX;
son, Craig and wife Kay Welch of Florida;
many grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
and many nieces and nephews;
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert on July 12, 1996, son, Terry Welch, sisters, Shirley Toomey, Mabel Nickels, Irene Tanks and brother, Kenneth Olmstead.
