Shattuck, Charles Scott - of Flushing, age 76, passed away Thursday, August 18th 2016 surrounded by his family and friends.
Service and burial will begin at 10:00AM Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly MI 48442.
Family will receive visitors at Swartz Funeral Home in Flint, Michigan from 2:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2016.
Charles was born in Flint, MI on February 20th, 1940 to Scott and Esther (Bense) Shattuck. Charles grew up in the historic Durant Hotel with summers spent on Lake Fenton. He attended Culver Military Academy and eventually returned to Flint and graduated from Central High School. Post graduation, Charles served in the United States Air Force from 1958-1963. After serving his country, Charles was employed by The Flint Journal for 40-years, retiring in 2002.
While working at the Flint Journal, he married the love of his life, Donna Russell, and remained happily married for the last 16-years.
Charles enjoyed fishing in Northern Canada, traveling to Las Vegas, appreciating fine dining, as well as reading with his beloved animals close by his side.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Scott and Esther Shattuck.

2 daughters, Lorie Eshima of Phoenix, Arizona and Kristin (Gary) Moore of Grand Blanc, MI;
3 step-daughters, Lucy (Daniel) O’Brien of Cleveland, Bernadette Adams and fiancé Franklin Burnash of Davison and Mary Adams and fiancé Patrick Draheim of Cleveland, Ohio
7 grandchildren, Jarrett, Erik and Grayson Eshima, Samuel, Nolan, Audra and Grace Moore;
Many friends, especially his right hand man, Paul (Wendy) Rodgers
