COX, GERALD D. “JERRY” – Of Flint, age 91, died Friday, June 14, 2024 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Deacon Omar Odette officiating.
Memorial Mass and burial of cremains at a later date.
Visitation 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Gerald was born in Flint, Michigan on March 30, 1933, the son of the late Sam and Mattie (Cook) Cox.
He was a 1952 graduate of Flint Central High School.
On August 10, 1953 he married Dolores Postemski.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Cox was a printer with Perry Printing for 40 years, retiring in 1995. He also served as their union representative
Surviving are wife, Dolores Postemski-Cox;
children, Deanne and husband James Woody,
Debra Maes,
Jerry and wife Connie and
Donna Borges;
grandchildren, Shawn and Eric Park, Carolyn Woody, Nicole and Robert Balint, Colette and Colin Marthaller, Elizabeth and Erin McGowan, Kendell and Tyler Main, Michael Clark and Elaine Borges;
great-grandchildren, Alexia, Jaslyn, Zachary, Jackson, Patrick, Emily, Lilly, Finley, Liam, Soren and Wyatt;
brother-in-law, Nicholas and wife Catherine Postemski;
sister-in-law, Delores Cox;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard and Richard Cox and sisters, Mildred Coone and Helen Cox.
