Albert Oldrick Valasek
Age 82 of Lennon passed away Friday, April 10, 2015.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00pm at Nelson-House Funeral Homes New Lothrop Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 15 at 11:00am at St. Michael’s Church of Maple Grove.
Albert was born on May 1, 1932 to Martin and Virginia (Vavra) Valasek in Lennon. He graduated from New Lothrop High School in 1950. On November 6, 1954 he married Lillian Konecny at St. Robert’s Catholic Church in Flushing.
Albert served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1957. He worked for General Motors in Grand Blanc for 33 years, retiring in 1994. In his free time, Albert enjoyed gardening, spending time with family, baseball, casinos, and anything John Deere. He also enjoyed spending his winters in Arizona since 1995.
Albert is survived by his children, David (Laurie) Valasek of Saginaw, Thomas Valasek of California, and Lorine Valasek of Arizona; his grandchildren, Allison, Stephanie, Maxwell, Christofer, and Alexander; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Henry, and his sister Frances. |
