On April 8, 1939, a precious son was born to Harold Lee and Marion Christine (Haskill) in Flint, Michigan. They gave him the name of Wayne Russell Stafford. Wayne was raised and lived in Flint his entire life. His education included Emerson Elementary School, graduating from Northern High School in Flint with the Class of 1957. His employment history included Auto Sales, Real Estate and retirement from General Motors after 31 years of service. Wayne was the father of four children: Dawn Marie, Mark Wayne, Debi Kaleen and Michael Thomas. On May 13, 1978, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Ann Bonn at Shelton Heights Baptist Church in Flint. They spent 46 years together until separated by his death in 2024. Wayne was passionate about cars and fishing. He could talk to anyone for endless hours about any car that caught his interest. He thought nothing of boarding a bus and heading out on a new adventure to see a car. Sometimes he bought the car, sometimes not. He could spend countless hours fishing; he enjoyed time spent with a rod and bait. He would talk to the fish reassuring them that if he caught them, he would release them. He also enjoyed "puttering" out in his shop. He was a collector of odds and ends and it was very rarely that he parted with his treasures. Wayne was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan. On game day or night, Wayne would don his Detroit Tigers Hat, thinking that that would increase their chances of winning, settle in his favorite chair and prepare to cheer his team on. He was disappointed when the Tigers lost but ecstatic when they won. Wayne was also filled with pride in his wife Marjorie Ann and her dedication to the nursing profession. With Wayne's help she was able to complete her master's degree in nursing. He was a kind and caring man with a sensitive nature and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Left to mourn Wayne's passing is his wife, Marjorie; children Dawn Marie (Mike) Lackney, Debi Leese, Michael Thomas Stafford, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Wayne Stafford; parents, Harold and Marion Stafford and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Patricia Stafford.
