MCCANN, James A. – of Flint, age 85, passed away January 19, 2016 at Genesee Care Center. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 3-6 PM on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Inurnment, with Military Honors, will be held in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, 2 PM Wednesday, January 27, 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
James was born in Flint, MI on December 31, 1930, son of the late Albert and Viola (Congdon) McCann. He married Carol J. Schryer on April 7, 1955 in Flint. James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in both Alaska and Germany. James retired from Buick after 38 ½ years of service. He was a member of the VFW Post #8236 and St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Flint.
James is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol; his son, Robert.
