TAPPEN, Willis L. – Of Goodrich, age 75, died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Living Joy Memory Care.
Funeral service will be held 11:30am Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.

Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation 1-8pm Thursday and 10:30am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Willis was born in Flint on July 31, 1940. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1961-65. Willis was employed with Consumers Energy for 34 years, retiring in 2001. He was an active member of Community of Christ Church, and a member of Goodrich Lions Club. Willis was involved with the Atlas Township Fire Department and was a Goodrich Ambulance Driver.
Surviving are wife, Joanne Tappen;
daughters, Susan (Mark) Kleitch and Diane (Tim) Varner;
grandchildren, Ashley Varner and fiance Jeremy Campbell, Karrah Varner, Trevor Varner, Nicholas Kleitch and Jarred Kleitch;
brothers, James (Nancy) Tappen, John Tappen and Merle Tappen;
sister Mary (Ralph) Letobar;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Laverne Tappen and several aunts and uncles.
