JAMES, Robert E. - Of Grand Blanc, age 85, died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 2PM Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
The Reverend Todd A. Biermann officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Humane Society or Parkinson’s Association.
Visitation 12 Noon Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Robert was born in Malden, Missouri on September 17, 1931, the son of the late Ora and Veneta (McGee) James and was a resident of the Flint area most of his life. Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean War, earning a Purple Heart. On May 14, 1960, he married Sharlene Rodabaugh. Robert was employed at General Motors Truck and Bus for 30 years.
Surviving are wife, Sharlene;
Daughter, Leanne (Walter) Engle;
3 grandchildren, Jonah, Samantha, Ben;
Step-mother, Nadine Trobaugh;
Sisters, Peggy Killbreath; Faye (Glenn) Johnson, Sharon Larabee, Linda Robertson, Deanna (Rob) Johnson;
And brother, Buddy (Jane).
He was preceded in death by his son, Brian.
