SCHROEDER, Edna – of Clio, age 95, died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Cranberry Park in Clio. Funeral services will be held 11AM, Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 520 Butler Street, Clio. Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday from 1PM until 8PM and on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contribution may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church.
Edna was born August 22, 1923 in Flint, Michigan to the late Anthony and Katherine (Ploch) July. She graduated from Otisville High School 1941. Edna married Russell Schroeder on June 24, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2007. She was a lifelong member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Edna was very active in parish life. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and reading. Most of all, she cherished her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are: Susan (Jerry) Loose, Laurie (Don) Rosekrans, Gary (Ronna) Schroeder, Brenda (Fred) Herndon, Katy (Mark) Brochu, and Daniel (Jennifer) Schroeder; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: Infant daughter, Donna Marie; Siblings: Josephine, Anna, Slyvia, Alice, Frank, Edward, Alec, and Helen. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at Cranberry Park Assisted Living and Cardinal Hospice for their compassionate care of Edna.
