Keith Talsma, age 84 of Mayville, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich, MI.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayville with Military Honors being conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #181 and the Mayville/Vassar VFW Post #10884 following at the church. Fr. Joe Schabel will officiate. Visitation will be 2 P.M.- 8 P.M. Friday December 28, 2012 at the Avram Funeral Home. Scripture service will be Friday at 7 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Keith was born September, 30, 1928 in Mt. Morris Township, MI, the son of John and Emma (Graham) Talsma. He graduated from Flushing High School. He married Rita Gleason on June 21, 1952 in Flushing, MI. Keith proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired after many years of being the Ford Dealer of Mayville.
Keith was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayville, the Mayville American Legion, and the Mayville Eagles. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, hockey, boating, water skiing and sharing good times with family and friends.
Keith is survived by two sons; Timbuck of Otisville and Kim (Corry) of Flushing, three grandchildren; Brianna, Carly Rita, and Nicklas, brother; Jack of Florida, 1 step-brother, 3 step-sisters, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita in 2010
