HADDAD, Salwa - Of Flint, age 69, born on December 14, 1945 in Lebanon and born to eternal life on March 10, 2015 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Friday, March 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church, 4133 Calkins Road, Flint, Father Pierre Bassil officiating.
Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation 3-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. An Incense Service will be held 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Friday at the church until the time of the Mass.
Salwa was born in Lebanon, the daughter of the late Toufic and Amira Zerka. Salwa married Francis Haddad, who survives her, on May 22, 1965 in Lebanon. Their almost 50 year union produced four children,
Sueham and husband Dr. Peter Vergos of Flushing and their children, Kosta, Frankie and Nicholas, John and wife Reina Haddad of Scottsdale, AZ and their children, Marino, Rio and Selena, Dana and husband Bernard Herro of Wauwatosa, WI and their son, Duke and Michael Haddad of Fenton and his children, Allison and Carson;
Also surviving Salwa are her sisters, Bahijeh Zerka, Rahijeh Zerka and Mariam Zerka;
as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by parents, brothers, Nazeer and Mansour Zerka, sister, Samira Khattar.
Salwa was an active and devoted member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church. She always volunteered her services to the Church, working tirelessly for its activities. She also was a long-time member of the Ladies Cedar Club of Flint. She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren. A devoted and giving person, Salwa will be remembered for her strong faith and commitment to her family and culture.
