NELSON, Gerald L. “Jerry” – of Burton, age 67, passed away March 22, 2013 at home. A Funeral Service will be held 11 Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Bruce Billing officiating. Private burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Tuesday and on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
Jerry was born in Flint, MI on November 17, 1945 son of the late Clair V. and Lillian Belle (Whaley) Nelson. He graduated in 1964 from Kearsley High School. Jerry proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. He retired from Buick after 30 years of service.
Jerry is survived by his siblings, Joyce N. Guelde and Tom A. Nelson;
8 nieces, 12 nephews, 19 great nieces; 12 great nephews; 22 great-great nieces and nephews and expecting two more great-great nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, V. Wayne, Clair Jr. and James M. Nelson; sisters, Audrey A. Quackenbush; nephews, Mark and Brad Nelson and Lee Quackenbush.
