ANDREWS, Sarah Louise - Of Flint, age 82, died Monday, September 15, 2014 at Fostrian Manor.
Funeral service will be held 10am Thursday, September 18, 2014
at the West Court Street Church of God, 2920 West Court Street, Flint,
Pastor Niki Christiansen officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or John P. Culver Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Visitation 2-8pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Sarah will be at the church 9am Thursday until the time of the service.
Sarah was born in Athens, Alabama on May 11, 1932, the daughter of the late Maples and Gladys (Schlosser) Andrews. She worked 38 years for the Flint Community Schools as a teacher and guidance counselor. Sarah was a longtime member of West Court Street Church of God where she also Chaired the Board of Christian Education and led the youth group.
Surviving are sister, Mildred Whiteley;
nephews, Stephen (Carol) Whiteley and Jeff (Kathy) Whiteley;
niece, Deborah Culver;
great nieces and nephews, Annelise (Ben) Buchanan, Melissa (Caleb) Rutan, Rebecca (Jack) Davis, Sean Whiteley, Leah (Jonny) Rupp, Nick Bobbitt, David Keasler, Kaitlin Whiteley and Kristyne Whiteley;
and many great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Charles M. Whiteley and nephew-in-law, John P. Culver.
