PETTENGILL, Robert H. “Bob” – of Flint, age 95, passed away September 16, 2017 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 4 PM Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Aaron Burton officiating. Burial will be 10 AM Friday, September 22, 2017 at Tanner Cemetery, 5190 N. Belsay Rd., Flint, MI 48506. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-8 PM. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Foundation, in honor of his daughter, Becky’s fight.
Bob was born in Flint, MI on January 19, 1922, son of the late Irving and Edna (Walker) Pettengill. He married Lillian “Betty” Jean Wedge on March 8, 1947 and she preceded him in death on February 23, 2008. Bob was a farmer his entire life and the proprietor for Apple Lane Orchards for over 60 years. He was a Redi-Mix truck driver a member of Teamsters Local #332 for over 30 years. His greatest love was his family.
Bob is survived by his nine children, Barbara (David) Taylor, Bruce (Karen) Pettengill, William Pettengill, Beth (Calvin) Rogler, Barry (Tina) Pettengill, Brad Pettengill, Bonnie (Gary) Shaw, Becky (Marty Riendeau) Mooring and Brigitte (Michael) Bowns; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by infant son, Bartley R. Pettengill; daughter-in-law, Carmen Pettengill; sister, Mary Lamson.
