CALCUTT, Betty – Of Flushing, age 88, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Central Church of the Nazarene, G-1261 West Bristol Road, Flint,
Pastor Steve Gibson officiating.
Visitation 11 a.m. -3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Calcutt will be at the church from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
Betty was born in Gilmore City, Iowa on September 4, 1926, daughter of the late Harry and Ada (Downey) Williams. She married William Calcutt on May 11, 1944 and they had been married for 59 years and he preceded her in death on July 21, 2003. She loved doing water aerobics at the YMCA. She loved to play Bingo, crochet, read and do crossword puzzles. Betty was a Chairperson for United Way.
She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spent winters in Seminole, Florida with her husband. Betty worked for GM Swartz Creek SPO Otterburn for 30 years, retiring in 1981.
Surviving are children, Nancy (Lindy) Lenderman, John (Carolyn),
Marcy and (Dr. Gary) Weber, William R. (Tracy);
grandchildren, Linda (Rob) Cannon, Christie (Carlos) Medina, Sarah (Don) Ferrington, Lauren (Dr. Daniel) Brancheau, Matthew (Jacee) Weber, Dr. Erin (Bryan) Weiss, Caitlin Calcutt and Jacob Calcutt;
13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;
sister, Alma Krause; brother, Harry (Gwen) Williams;
many nieces and nephews.
