McCANN, Jane Frances – of Clio, age 81, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 28, 2013at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Bob McGraw officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Friday from 1-9 PM where a Parish Vigil service will be held at 7 PM. She will lie instate at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of Mass at 10:30 AM. Contributions may be made to the North End Soup Kitchen.
Jane was born March 14, 1932 in Flint to the late Clarence and Mary (McCormick) Downum. She resided in Clio since 1971. She married James McCann on June 21, 1952 in Flint. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1995. Mrs. McCann was employed at Tuar-Grimbac for 12 years until 1997. She was a member of All
Saints Catholic Church and had attended Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing and crafts.
Surviving are: children, Michael (Pamela) McCann of Flushing, Peggy (Jim) Bushong of VA, Patrick McCann of St. John, Timothy (Janice) McCann of Springport, H. “Leo” (Cindy) McCann of Clio, Daniel (Mary) McCann of Birch Run, Ruth (Dean) Storms of Clio, John (Heather) McCann of MD, Paul (Debbie) McCann of Grand Blanc, Christine (Robert) Nobach of Clio; 31 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; brother, Alfred (Darlene) Downum; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: daughters, Eileen Champney in 2003, Rita Kanan in 2011; son Edward McCann in 2008; and her sister, Mary Alice Champney in 2012.
