MILLER, Gerald Jack – of Birch Run, died Friday April 5, 2013 at his winter home in Texas. He was 70 years of age.
Gerald was born on July 19, 1942 in Saginaw to the late John and Pauline (Morse) Miller. He lived in Birch Run the past 50 years. He served in the US Marine Corp for six years. Gerald married Fredi Richey on August 15, 1964. He retired from the Eaton Corp in Saginaw in 2002 with 35 years seniority. Mr. Miller was a member of Living Promise Free Methodist Church in Flushing and the Birch Run Masonic Lodge #514 F & AM. He served as Worshipful Master and secretary of the lodge. He was State Mason of the Year in 2001. He was on the Board of General Purposes District #22 for 25 years. He also belonged to Saginaw Valley Commandry Chapter #31, Royal Area Masons, St. Bernard Council #16 Knights Templers, Saginaw Council #20 Royal & Secret Masters, Allied Mason Degree, Valley of Bay City Scottish Rite, Most Wise Master of Rose Croix, Elf Khurafeh Shrine, Bay Area Shrine Club, Tall Shriner Unit, Hospital Driver Unit having done over 100 trips in Michigan and 15 trips in Texas, Hillbilly Clan #55 and Hillbilly Clan Outhouse #2.
Surviving are: wife Fredi; children, Shawn (Carol) Miller of Dacula, GA, Wayne (Kara) Miller of Grand Blanc, Howard (Gayle) Neill of Tuscon, AZ; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Peter Sentz of NY, Paul (Dot) Sentz of NY; sisters, Linda Sentz of PA, Terrie (John) Decker of NY, Jo (Roger) Hanner of CA, Jodi Kroll of CA; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: son, Jason in 1977; sister, Juanita; and 2 brothers, Scott and Jack.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Living Promise Free Methodist Church, 7457 N. Elms Rd., Flushing. Pastors Tony Chick and Eddie Phillips officiating. Private interment will be at Birch Run Cemetery . Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Wednesday from 6-9PM and on Thursday from 1-9 PM where a Masonic Memorial will take place at 7 PM. He will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10AM until time of services at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital or the charity of one's choice.
