RUTKOSKI, Eugene P. - Of Grand Blanc, age 89, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center surrounded by his brother Dan and his wife Sondra Rutkoski.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1pm Friday, November 10, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc,
Father Dan Westermann officiating.
Visitation 3-7pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 6pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 12:30pm Friday at church until the time of the Mass.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Eugene was born in Superior, Wisconsin on October 8, 1928 to the late Joseph P. and Theresa V. (Rutkowski) Rutkoski. He is the second of 7 children. Gene graduated from Flushing High School, Class of 1946. He went to serve in the U.S. Airforce Ground Engineer Core, a division of the Army, during World War II. His assignment was to build air force bases, bridges etc., for the war effort. Gene retired from GM after 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #659.
Left to honor Gene and remember him with love are his sisters, Bernice (Rutkoski) Tigner and Maryann (Rutkoski) George;
brothers, Daniel (Sondra) Rutkoski and Joseph Carolyn) Rutkoski;
and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, older brother, Robert Rutkoski and his younger sister Janeen (Rutkoski) Robbins.
