NEATON, Michael James – of Swartz Creek, age 81, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024 with family at his side, at Springvale Assisted Living and Memory Care in Swartz Creek, MI following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Fr. Dieudonne Ntakarutimana officiating. The family will welcome visitors from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mike’s memory.
Mike was born in Port Huron, MI on January 30, 1943, son of the late Phillip J. and Clara J. (Kanirie) Neaton. Mike was a 1961 graduate of St. Stephen’s High School in Port Huron, MI. He served in the National Guard and was employed at Chrysler and General Motors as a tool and die maker. Mike loved his work and had a fascination with Corvettes, owning a total of 14 over the years. Mike was a long-time member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He lived his faith, especially by caring for his parents and siblings.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his older infant sister, Ann Neaton. He is survived by his loving siblings, Mary (Gary) Crankshaw, Thomas Neaton, Daniel (Marie) Neaton, Jane (Arthur) Miller, Dorothy Neaton; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike’s family wishes to thank the staff at Springvale Assisted Living and Corso Care Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion over this past year.
