THOMAS, William M. - Of Swartz Creek, age 80, died Monday, January 25, 2016.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1pm Friday, January 29, 2016 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint,
Father Gordon Reigle officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities.
Visitation 5-8pm Wednesday and 1-4pm and 6-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 12pm Friday at the church until the time of the Mass.
William was born in Flint on November 22, 1935, the son of the late Benjamin and Jane (Malloy) Thomas and was a resident of the Flint area most of his life. William attended St. John Vianney High School. On August 5, 1989, he married Rochelle Moleski. He was employed with GM Chevrolet Manufacturing as a Tool and Die Machinist for 32 years. William was also a former Genesee County Deputy Sheriff. He was also a member of; VFW 4087 in Davison, Masonic Lodge 174, UAW Local #659, American Legion, St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Flushing and Harley Owners Group.
Surviving are wife, Rochelle;
children, Scott W. Thomas Sr., Lisa Long and Brian F. Thomas;
grandchildren, Scott W. Thomas Jr. Elizabeth Patrick and Dylan Holt;
along with great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews;
brothers, Donald (Martha) Thomas, Bernard (Gloria) Thomas;
and sister, Kathleen Francisco.
