Jackson, Mr. Warren N. age-95 passed away Saturday March 31,2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday April 6,2018 from the Christ Fellowship M.B. Church 317 Hamilton Ave. Pastor Timothy Hicks officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 Belford Rd. Holly, Mi. Family and friends will assemble at the church 11am for visitation. There will be no public viewing at the funeral home.
Mr. Warren Nathaniel Jackson was born on January 28, 1923 in Preston Mississippi, the firstborn of 6 kids to Jennie and Luguster Jackson. He attended Oak Grove School in Preston thru the ninth grade. In the 10th grade, he attended the Harris High School in Meridan, Mississippi graduating in 1944. After graduating he was drafted into the Us Army on the 29th Feb 1944. He served in England, France and Germany until 1945. He served in Manila until 1946, and was discharged in May 1947. He then went to the National Trade school in Kansas City, Missouri graduating 1948. In July 1948 he reenlisted back into the military and served in Fort Dix, New Jersey. He then served in West Point, New York until 1953 when he went back to Germany, and served there until 1955.
He met Jannette Scott in Trenton, NJ while home in 1953. They married on December 18, 1954. They then moved to Fort Riley, Kansas in 1955 and then back to Fort Dix, NJ in 1956. On July 11, 1957 their first child, Valarie was born. Warren went back to Kitzingen Germany and Jannette and Valarie joined him in August 1958. On July 12, 1960 their 2nd child, Clayton was born in Wurzberg, Germany. In September 1960 the family returned to Fort Dix, NJ. Then in 1962 they went back to Nuremberg, Germany. In December 1965 they returned to Fort Carson, Colorado and he retired from the US Army in September 1966. He moved to Flint, Michigan and hired into General Motors in October 1966 as a Senior Clerk. He joined Canaan Baptist Church moving to Christ Fellowship Baptist Church and served as the Treasurer and Deacon for 13 years. He retired from General Motors in April 1980. He worked at Spencer Mortuary as a Funeral Director from May 1980 until September 1996. He joined the George Washington Carver VFW Post in 1982 and served as the Quartermaster for 13 years, becoming the Commander in 2002, serving until 2013.
Warren leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Jannette Jackson. Two children, Valarie Jackson and Clayton (Monica) Jackson, Flint Michigan. Godson, Andre Jackson, Orlando Florida. Brothers, Frank Jackson, Flint Michigan and Alvin (Grace) Jackson, Duluth, Georgia. Sister in law, Ernestine Jackson, Flint Michigan.
Special Nephews, Robert Ray, Zachary Hill, Michael Jackson. Special Nieces, Barbara Barnett, Cheryl Sessoms, Sheila Cutts, Tanja Hill, Tracy (Guy) Madison, Kelly Lynn Jackson, Lawanna Demetrius, Jamie Lynn Matthews.
Many Great Nephews and Nieces, His special Girls, Jennifer Ballard, Marsha Marble, Renita Bell, Robbie Washington, Rachel Johnson and Sheila Wells, numerous cousins and a very large host of other relatives and special friends, including the Gilcreasts, Bells, Tuckers, Nortons, Jenkins, Burns and Kahee Families.
