SCHARRER, Stella V., age 86, of Linden, formerly of Davison, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 at her daughter’s home.
Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00AM Tuesday until time of service at the funeral home.
Stella was born November 9, 1928 in Manilla, Arkansas the daughter of the late Hugh and Etta Mae (Long) Crabtree. Her mother died shortly after her birth and she was lovingly raised by her grandmother for many years. She was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and was employed in her younger years by Bell Telephone. She married Henry “Hank” Scharrer on September 14, 1948 and together they had four children. Unfortunately, he died unexpectantly in 1973. Stella was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of Jehovah Witness’ attending in Davison and Holly. Stella enjoyed gardening, but most of all she loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved dearly and will be remembered forever.
Surviving are her four children, Sherry Brown (George) of Fenton, Steve Scharrer (Jenny) of Howell, Douglas Scharrer of Davison, Lisa Horn (Larry) of Fenton; grandchildren, Nicole Fifer (Luke), Elizabeth Scharrer, Krysten Brown, Rachel Horn-Kidder (Justin), Dustin Scharrer (Rachel) Darin Scharrer; great-grandchildren, Josie, Rex, Estella; 2 step-grandchildren, Nicholas Branoff (Martha), Peter Brown (Debbie); step-great-grandchildren, Alexander, Erik, Alyssa, Victoria; half-sisters, Yvetta Ferrell, Kate Berendt, Daythel Pewitt; half-brothers, Fred and Jerry Crabtree; loving best friend, Delores Farnum. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joan and brother, Bonray.
