Thompson, Nancy M. of Flushing, age 80, died Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Concerned Country Care in Montrose. A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Ellsworth Jackson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
Nancy was born in Flint, Michigan on January 22, 1936, the daughter of Osmond and Marie (Fuller) Jacobs. She married Stewart Thompson in 1954. They were married for 27 years and together had three children. Nancy later married Walter Rippy in 1989 and he preceded her in death in 1993. She was a School Bus Driver for Flushing Community Schools for 40 years and also sold real estate in Flushing for 20 years. In her younger years, she played softball. Nancy loved shopping and taking care of her many animals. Her greatest joy was her family and she will be remembered as a friend to everyone she met.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Sharon and husband John Colby, Cindy Hines; grandchildren, Shannon and husband Jerry Piper, Ryan Barry, Kyle Colby, Konnor Colby, Lindsey and husband Dustin Frigy, Peyton Hines; great-grandchildren, Brenna and McKenzie Piper and Avery Frigy. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicky Martin; step-daughter, Holly Weller Krupp; and brothers, Beverly and James Jacobs.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Concerned Country Care in Montrose and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care. |
