DUNAWAY, Joe Marley – of Flint, age 64, passed away on May 8, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Monday, May 13, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, Pastor Dan Rose officiating. Private Interment will take place in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 1-6 PM, Sunday, May 12, 2024 and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. For those ordering flowers, the family request no roses due to an allergy.
Joe was born in Flint, MI, son of John and Darlene (Riley) Norris. He married Dianna Lee on September 22, 1979 in Lapeer. Joe retired from B & B Paint. In his spare time Joe played softball for Player’s Inn, Busch Beer and then Shu & Voeks. He was an avid sports fan of the Detroit Tigers, University of Michigan and the Detroit Lions. Joe enjoyed gambling of all sorts, the casino, scratch offs, and Keno at Baker’s Market. He played euchre at BJ’s Bar every Monday night from fall until spring. Joe found joy in fishing with his friends and family. His greatest joy was spending time with family, especially supporting his grandchildren at their activities and sporting events.
Joe is survived by his wife, Dianna Dunaway; daughters, Darcy Weidman and Heidi (Chad) Schweitzer; six grandchildren, Dylan, Lily, Mason, Jake, Jackson, Makenzie; one great-grandson to be, Dawson Marley, due in June; mother, Darlene Norris; brother, Jesse (Theresa) Dunaway; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his step-father, John Norris; father, Hershel Dunaway; and sister, Pamela (Joe) DeMary.
