JAMES E. MANSER, age 85 of Mayville, formerly of Otisville, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at United Hospice in Marlette. His funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, with Pastor Weiss officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors from 11AM-2PM and 4-8PM on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fisher Senior Care and Rehab Center, 521 W. Ohmer Rd., Mayville, MI 48744. James was born on December 17, 1930 to Sydney and Ella Mae (Rhodes) Manser. He married Phyllis Dittmar on March 15, 1952 in Otisville. James was a Korean War Vet and retired from General Motors in 1986. He was a member of the Otisville Lions and St. Timothy Lutheran Church. James was a Boy Scout leader and a wonderful grandfather. He also enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Surviving are his children: Jim (Marcy) Manser, Beth (Brad) Long, Linda Woodruff, and Marsha (L.D.) Shaw; grandchildren: Renee, Brent, Lisa, Brooke, Sarah, Brandon, and Jennifer; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Beattie; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; parents; brother, David Manser; and sons-in-law: James Shaw II and Don Woodruff. |
