McKinsey, Elizabeth A. of Flushing, age 84, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Maple Woods Manor in Clio. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Bruce Lawton will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Elizabeth was born in Flint, Michigan on February 26, 1930, the daughter of George and Irene (Pollard) Crook. She married Darwin McKinsey on March 24, 1948. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1990. Elizabeth loved classical music and playing the piano. She enjoyed listening to her son and son-in-laws band, Flashback. Elizabeth was known for making the best pies. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting and spending time up north on Crystal Lake. Her greatest love was her family and spending time with them.
She is survived by her children, Catherine and husband Dean Sills, James and wife Kathryn McKinsey; daughter-in-law, Linda McKinsey; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Casey, Ryan, Kevin; five great-grandchildren, Maria, Mason, Mia, Emma, James. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son, Michael McKinsey.
