MILLER, STEPHEN “STEVE”
Of Davison, formerly of Highland, Age 81, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Monday April 25, 2016. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at St. John Catholic Church, 505 N. Dayton St. Davison, Fr. Bob Bacik officiating. Visitation will be at the church starting at 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment to follow mass at 2:00 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Steve was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on August 6, 1934 to Donald and Cecile Miller. He enlisted in the Air Force upon graduation and proudly served during the Korean War. After service he attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated with a BBA in 1960. On June 30, 1962 he married Judith Matthews . He retired after 32 years in sales from Gilman Engineering. In his retirement he and Judy owned The Draft Pick in Highland and later he worked at Lowe’s in Burton. Steve is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy; children Amy Miller Banes, Andrew (Kristen) Miller; grandchildren Molly Banes, Craig Banes Jr., Jack Banes, Katie Miller and Nicole Szoko; and his beloved dog Max. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Shirley Eastridge. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, golfing and playing cards. He was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan. Steve was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, a former member of The Church of the Holy Spirit Men’s Club, and active in his community. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St John Catholic Church in Davison, Michigan.
