DONAJKOWSKI, Louis W. “Louie” – of Howell, MI, age 92, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital. A Private Graveside Service will be held for immediate family members, at St. John Catholic Cemetery. A memorial mass and celebration will be held on a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Inner – City Neighborhood Art House in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Louie was born in Rogers City, MI on October 27, 1927. He was the 12th of 13 children of Frank and Mary Donajkowski, and spent his childhood in Posen, MI. He married the love of his life, Theresa (Terri) Pokorski on October 15, 1949 at St. Casimir Church. In 1950 Louie became a resident of Davison, MI where he lived with his beloved wife raising his family. He was a long-time resident of Davison, making his life there for almost 70 years. He was a hard-working skilled tradesman at Buick Motor Division before retiring in 1986. He was also an active member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church. He spent his time as an usher, Bereavement Committee member, Environment Commission member, and provided countless hours supporting a variety of church functions and events.
Those that loved Louie know him as “Honey”. Honey loved his life and adored his family. He was sweet, caring and compassionate. He was not rich in the sense of money or material things, but he possessed a richness of life and gratitude for everyone and everything around him. The world is a kinder, better place for having Honey in it.
Honey will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Monica (Joe) Urban; sons, Ken (Mimi) Donajkowski and Roland (Louanna) Donajkowski; son-in-law, Doug Hawker; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and Godchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife “Papa”, Lois Hawker and 12 brothers and sisters.
