HAMMERSLEY, Sandra L.– of Montrose, age 75, passed on to a new life on Thursday, January 17, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 1PM on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery in New Lothrop. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Saturday from 10 – 1 PM. Contributions may be made to the family. No flowers please.
Sandra was born December 25, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN to the late John and Mary (McQueen) Collier. She married James Hammersley on December 1, 1980, they spent 34 years together. Sandra was an accomplished artist and poet who enjoyed horseback riding, needlepoint, reading, going to the movies and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are: husband, James; children, Craig (Laurie) Woodfield of Flint Twp., Lee (Stephanie) Woodfield of Flint Twp.; step children, Michael Hammersley of Flint, Joyce Hammersley of Charlotte, NC, Steven Hammersley of Seattle, WA; 11 grandchildren, Candice, Douglas, Amber, Keifer, Andrea, Jamie, Rachael, Christopher, Nicole, Dustin, Steven; great-grandchildren; brother, Charlie Scalf; many other family.
