BLOODWORTH, Selmer M. – of Clio, age 87, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Frankenmuth Lutheran Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, March 15, 2013 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Rev. Leonard A. Astrowski, Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12-9PM and on Friday from 11 AM until time of services at 1 PM. Contributions may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation.
Selmer was born December 7, 1925 in Blountsville, Alabama to the late Luther and Beulah (Weaver) Allred. She lived in Millington since 1990 coming from Harrison. She married Willie Tom Bloodworth on March 3, 1945 in Cullman, Alabama. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1977. Mrs. Bloodworth was a former member of Clio First Baptist Church. She worked with her husband in their Atlas Fence Company.
Surviving are: children, Marie Warren of Mayville, Larry (Gloria) Bloodworth of Vassar, Willie Jr. (Penny) Bloodworth of Clio, Janic (Shirley) Garcia of Flint; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Marvin Allred; sisters, Ilava Harbon, Magalene Allred, Eulabell (Alan) Newman, Gwnell (Grafton) Newman; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: daughters, Kathryn Bloodworth, Lillian Elowsky and Agnes Bloodworth; brothers, James and Rayford Allred; sisters, Maverine Dover and Opie Barron.
