ADAMS, Catherine E. (Kay) of Davisburg, formerly of Flushing, age 96 passed away peacefully September 2, 2015 at Pines of Clarkston surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Hope United Methodist Church, 4467 Beecher Road, Flint,
Pastor Carol Blair Bouse officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 Hill Road, Flint from 12 noon to 8 pm and at 10 am Wednesday at the church until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or charity of one’s choice.
Catherine was born in Flint, Michigan, on January 13, 1919, eldest daughter of parents Francis and Edna (Dago) Hite. She married Herbert A. Adams on March 1, 1947 and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2008.
Catherine was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School and attended Hurley School of Nursing. She worked several years as a surgical nurse at Flint Osteopathic Hospital.
She enjoyed her home, playing cards, bingo, and spending time with her family and friends.
Catherine is survived by her daughter Jeannine (Hal) Romer of Davisburg; son John (Mary Sue) Adams of Mt. Clemens, son Clark Adams of Flint Township; three grandchildren Cynthia (James) Fan of Los Gatos, CA; Scott (Heather) Romer of Decatur, GA; Erin Adams of Harper Woods; four great grandsons Jack, Henry, Paul, and David Fan; sisters Marguerite Cronkright and Carolyn Lovejoy; several nieces and nephews; special friend Martha Habbel. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth Schuler.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Pines of Clarkston and Heart to Heart Hospice for their love and support.
