McCOWN, Larry T. – Of Flint, age 66, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at his residence, after a courageous eight year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Deacon Ron Kenney officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 10-8p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Larry was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on December 1, 1948, the son of Jack and Doris McCown.
He married Sylvia Luna on February 11, 1978 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in Flint.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Mr. McCown was a crane operator and worked in heating and cooling divisions in construction.
Surviving are wife, Sylvia;
daughter, Laura (Adam) Messenger;
two grandsons, whom he cherished, Brady and Evan;
son, Keith Jones;
sister, Judy (Renold) Lee;
sister, Sharon McClure;
several nieces, nephews, cousins; very special friends, John (Tina), Conley, Gary Minzey, Chad Hoffman, Gary Metzger, John Orin, Greg Waisinen and Nancy Hardin;
his dog, Samson.
He was preceded in death by parents, Jack and Doris McCown and sister, Brenda Childers.
