Wenzlick, Ronald D. of Flushing, age 85, died Monday, January 22, 2018, at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2018, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Gordon Reigle will officiate. Burial will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2018, at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Flushing Christian Outreach Center.
Ronald was born in Saginaw, Michigan on August 9, 1932, the son of Joseph and Agnes (Constine) Wenzlick. He married Patricia Garant on August 10, 1957, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Maple Grove. Ronald proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from William E. Walter Mechanical Contractors where he worked as a plumber and was a member of Union #370, United Association. He was a man of deep faith and has been a member of St. Robert Catholic Church for over 50 years. Ronald was a model airplane enthusiast and was a member of the Chesaning Area RC Flying Club and the AMA, Academy of Model Aeronautics. He was an avid sports fan and his many hobbies included woodworking, cooking and wine making. Ronald was known as a “Jack of all trades” and was always willing to help others.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia; four daughters, Reneé and husband Bruce Fisher, Carolee and husband Daniel Hinterman, Jeannine and husband Curtis Scott, Karen and husband David Miller; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth and wife Helen Wenzlick, Dale and wife Maxine Wenzlick; and many nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilfred; and sister, Josephine.
